CONFESSIONS OF A MIDDLE-AGED CHILD PRODIGY…OR,
“DRAMA OF THE GIFTED GROWNUP”
is an article describing my experience as a wildly driven, 54-year-old Renaissance person in this highly competitive, information-saturated day and age. It reflects upon the uphill struggle that comes with being multi-talented—striving and aspiring, swimming against the current as the clock ticks away and the majority of my peers have long-settled into their lives. It takes a bittersweet, albeit humorous look at the frustration, jealousy, shame, humility yet fierce determination and endless passion that comes with being a visionary with the staunch unwillingness to give up. This article is illustrated with my cartoons and is being developed as a book.
